Deepest sympathies my family. Sorry I can’t be with you to say goodbye to my cousin Vera. Such a beautiful soul of joy and gentleness. I’ll miss your Facebook posts and comments which always brought a smile to my face and warmed my heart.

I met Aunty Vera when the Queensland Music Festival came to Bose in 2009 and again in 2011 for Behind the Cane, the story of Australian South Sea Islanders in Bowen. Aunty Vera became a friend and mentor and was so wonderful and inviting, and we continued to stay in touch. Her hospitality was legendary and I particularly recall a breakfast she prepared for the visitors including David Bridie. It was a privilege to have known her and I loved her dearly. She will be missed. Much love Aunty Vera.

Thanks Aunty Vera you're paved the way for many who will just like you enter Kingdom with our heavenly Father. No more pain, I still hear your cheeky laugh, your beautiful smile I will never forget but that those eyes, those eyes that have seen a lot and could tell a million stories but the stories of Gods goodness I know would be countless. Thank you for being you, Mark and I look forward to seeing you one day until then behave yourself (or not) and we will take care of John Boy on this side love and miss you Aunty Vera.

Dear Jacintha and family. Vera was one of the warmest, most intelligent , most courageous women we have ever met. Mike and I loved her and respected her deeply. Her influence lives on. We will remember her name. With love Margery
