  • So sad to hear of Mal’s passing. We only found out today, but glad we got to see his lovely service on live stream. We were so happy to see a great turnout of family, submariners and friends and the RSL for the Poppy Service. Both Chrissie and I send our condolences to his whole family and send our regrets for not being able to attend.
Kindest regards. Pee Wee and Chrissie.

Your duty to the Royal Australian Navy, Flag and Country, is done.
Stand down, Shipmate the OOD grants permission to go ashore.
You may now disembark and join our fallen messmates.

Call the Hands….and raise your grog cups to celebrate Malcolm's life.

  • RIP Mal. The 1st one of us to go, and it's affected me more than I'd expected. I had a wee cry for you brother & expect you are in a better place.

  • Mal was a true friend to my husband Scot. They first met in 1972. He and Judy were great friends. I remember his pride in his family when he lived in the Morningside area. He was so proud of Petra and Darren and was delighted when Tina and Kylee ABBA impersonators, came along - quickly followed by Kelly. I remember coming home from Melbourne after visiting my Mum. My husband forgot it was Brownie Guides Day and Mal was in the kitchen ironing my daughter's uniform while Scot was preparing her snack! In later years, when Scot was in Mackay on business he would always catch up with Mal and often I was with him and we were delighted to meet Kay. When Scot was diagnosed with Alzheimers, Mal made it a priority when he was in Brisbane to visit Scot at the nursing home. Mal never changed. Just a good business operator and friend. Mal was true Aussie in every way.
