My childhood memories of visiting our White cousins in Mackay are filled with excitement, joy and an overwhelming sense of inclusion. At the centre, at 3 Schaeffer St, was our Auntie Jan, like an extremely affable "captain of the ship". She seemed to keep steady a course in a house bursting at the seams. In an instant she would shift from berating one of the many delightful cousins, to greet a visitor with a welcome smile and a gaze that spoke with love, laughter and warmth. Always a twinkle in the eye as if ready to play a prank (with my Dad), on the next victim. I'm specifically remembering (after the wedding) live chooks now. The White family ecosystem is something very special brimming with potential to support and celebrate family. I wish you well as you move forward without your matriarch. Auntie Jan, may you waltz into the next realm with peace, joy and confidence of a job well done. There will be many happy faces waiting to greet you. Let the celebrations begin. What a woman!

May you rest easy now Nana.
Today as we celebrated your life there were so many laughs, memories and lots of cheers.
One thing that I hope for is that my six grandchildren love me as much as I love you and I’m the Nana that you were to all of us.
Nana White I love you.
