I smile when I think of the laughs we shared. It was an honour and a pleasure to be your friend. I cry when I remember I can't pick up the phone and listen to you any more!

Thanks for introducing me to the Flashman books. Soldier, lover, adventurer, he fought and wenched his way to glory (and lechery and skullduggery and conduct unbecoming a gentleman). Not unlike yourself sometimes.

Rest well now buddy x You will take a little piece of my heart with you x

Uncle David,
A huge presence in any room.
Your wild story telling about even wilder things.
Your kind eye.
Your brilliant laugh.
Your rendition of “earache my eye”and poetic turn of phrase.
Your cool brown skin and fabulous tattoos.
And the sound of that big black BMW rolling in.
For all these things and more.
I will remember you always.
Ride on uncle David.
Leah xx

The world became a little bit more dull the day I found out you'd left us. I've no doubt you'll be with the other Beagles that are on the other side waiting for you. You'll always hold a special place in the hearts of this family.

My first memory of David when he was a 13yr old. I was very small and he used to come home to Buchan Ave with iceblocks and he would always give me the first bite. He was so kind and I saw this translate later when he became a father and his girls would ask him for chicken nuggets from Maccas and he would always give in to them. He was a lovely father to them. David didn't always treat himself well in his life. A lot of people saw him as a gregarious extrovert, however, I saw him as an extroverted introvert and the classic studious Hermit with a lot of inner wisdom and inner light that was just unstoppable.
Kylie, xx.
