Condolences to all the family on Alan's passing. I have many fond memories of "Hobbo", especially as coach of under 10s cricket back in the day. It was a good 24 years since he coached me, but he always remembered most of the boys he coached. He did so much for the community and will be sadly missed

I am so heartbroken, to kno I will never see you walking to our house or seeing you in shorts (thinking it’s someone else) or to hear you excitedly say “hello Natasha” you were always a great person to have around, I have known you for nearly 23 years, from primary school when I was the only kid in the class to give you a card, through my high school years, then when I had my accident, and my kids. You have been there through all the big things in my life and now I don’t know how to feel. To kno I won’t see you again really breaks my heart, and the tears won’t stop. Like you always told me, it’s never goodbye it’s just see ya soon. Rest in eternal paradise Mr Hobson, forever and Always.

To Catherine, Luke and family and friends our most sincere condolences. Alan's (Dad/ Granddads) greatest legacy will be a daughter with strength and resilience like no other and a grandson that is an absolute credit to the family, kind, sensitive, generous, humble and dedicated to whatever he sets his mind to. Qualities that I have no doubt were instilled by Alan. The entire Redcliffe Cyclones Junior Cricket club stands with you during this heart breaking time and into the future whenever you need us. We are sending you all our love and support. We will miss not having him at our games but he will forever be in the hearts of those that loved him and his spirit will live on in Catherine and Luke.

My condolences to the Hobson family. Sad to hear of Alan’s passing. He devoted many, many hours to coach young cricketers like me, and I am grateful for the huge effort he made. Thoughts also go to Bruce, who I played cricket with a few times over the years.

"Hobbo" as we knew him. Loved his family, loved his Lord and loved his church. A wonderful support to me when serving in ministry in Prossie! Alan kept in touch with me, giving me a phone call a couple of times a year, even though it has been over 15 years since I moved on. In fact he phoned my just a few days prior to his death! Now promoted to glory! Love and blessings to his family.

Well said, Leo. "Hobbo" is now with the Lord he loved so much. Alan was the cricket coach for my 2 boys and I shared a business office with him for a time. I knew his first wife very well, and Catherine was the hospital chaplain in Brisbane when my first husband was dying in hospital. My boys played cricket with his boys also, so they knew him very well. Alan will be very sorely missed.
